The Benchetler Fasani Foundation is a 501(c)(3) with a mission to provide a meaningful connection to the outdoors for those who have suffered loss or hardship, by experiencing the healing properties found only in nature.
Spending time in nature has always been how my husband, Chris Benchetler, and I clear our mind. The vastness of the mountains is calming. Taking deep breaths in the forest is revitalizing. Swimming in the ocean is cleansing. Just taking time to be outside, in whatever form it can be, is healing. We are passionate outdoor enthusiasts but have truly felt the healing powers of nature after going through a loss or hardship.
Being that Chris and I have lost 3 parents to cancer, nature has been the backbone of how we find a peaceful mind in moments of grief and chaos. When I was diagnosed with breast cancer in November of 2021, I was ushered quickly into an aggressive treatment plan. Nature once again was the place I went to create space to process and adjust to the new pace of life in and out of doctors offices.
We have been so fortunate to have an incredible community of supporters, friends, and family help us through these challenges. Because of this support and the healing properties of nature and we wanted to create this foundation to help provide opportunities for others being challenged by difficult times a way to find a place to heal.
